Thank you. I’m glad you like it. One of the beauties of Dakota is that farmers often allow structures such as this to remain…they may plow around them, but they don’t usually go out of their way to remove an old schoolhouse, barn, claim shanty, etc. They often do find a new use for an old building, but they generally have a lot more respect for the reminders of the past than we might find in other parts of the country. My native New Hampshire struggles with this issue all the time. I don’t mean to say that New Englanders don’t revere their past, but there is a lot of demolition here. New owners will tear down something historic and replace it with cookie-cutter developments whether we have a housing shortage or not. Sadly, the new structures are often so over-priced that we end up with a glut of high-end housing and very expensive rentals, which drives younger residents away from their hometowns and results in generations of 20-somethings moving to other, less expensive locales. Of course, there are McMansions in every state, even in the Dakotas, but my impression is that fewer people push to raze old houses and municipal buildings and replace them with new construction in Laura’s West.

The idea sort of feels way too sophisticated and extremely wide personally. I’m looking forward on the following publish, I will try to have the suspend of computer!
